Default Heater Vents

I'm a owner of a new 2013 Fit, and just noticed that when I turn on the heater to blow down to the floor that I get very little air out of the bottom vents, and quite a bit of air coming out of the A/C vents. This doesn't seem right, almost like a cable or lever isn't connected properly. How does this compare to your Fit when you put your heater to floor mode?

Sure sounds like it. Or are you sure you are selecting the right spot on the knob maybe for both not just the bottom one?

Nah, I'm definitely selecting only the bottom, as opposed to both, but you would sure think that it's on both by the way it's blowing. In fact, more air is blowing out the A/C vents than the heater vents. I'm not sure that it even changes when I select both or just the A/C vents. I'll call the dealer today and setup an appointment to have it looked at.

I have an '09 and what you describe is very familiar. I close the upper vents and more warm air will get to your feet.

^^^ That's not (no pun intended) cool at all. lol
My feet are cold and my body is hot. I'll post what the dealer says about it . . . I have a service appointment scheduled for Wednesday at 3:00.

I called the dealer and talked with a service advisor about the issue before bringing in my car, and he said that it should only be blowing out the floor vents when the knob is selected to floor, and suggested that I bring it in to be looked at.
I brought it in at my scheduled service time (I love Team Honda's online service scheduler). After an hour wait, the service advisor return to me with. "It's designed to work like that". He came up with some BS about fresh air flow requirements . . . to which I asked, "fresh air can't flow out the floor vents"? He didn't have an answer for that one.
I'm willing to accept that it's designed like this, but will check a couple of other new Fit's to see if they perform the same way . . . but apparently, for no apparent reason, the center A/C vents will turn off when you select floor, but the outside vents stay on.
The only option is to manually close the side A/C vents, forcing air to exit only the floor vents

Waldo, I don't have experience with GE8s, but my '07 GD3 operates exactly the way yours does.
