I picked up my 2010 Tidewater Blue Sport yesterday. It took nearly a month since I bought it on April 29th. My dealer arranged a trade with another dealer, but both cars needed to be shipped from Japan.
I have already installed the Zeta armrest. Next comes removal of the '10 fit emblem to be replaced with the Fit or Jazz blue dot... My dealer put their sticker where I wanted to put my Jazz emblem.... arrgh!
Any suggestions as to another location to put the Jazz emblem. I had wanted to have both a Jazz & Fit emblem on the car.

i think i'd remove the dealer sticker. no need to advertise for them. i am anxious to hear if you get good mileage. my 2007 base fit rocked the mileage. got 45 on the highway and about 28 in the city. i have had my car one week and seem to get about 21 in the city and 33 on the highway. is it because it is so new? or bigger? it's a standard transmission like my 2007. also today i had the grass cutter do the lawn and he sprayed green grass all over my car! what an idiot. ran it through the car wash, but still had to rub and rub with soap and water here. i am too old for that. i am planning on putting the jazz where the fit is currently. i got another one in great shape with the chrome dot, which i think i like better, so if you want a blue or red dot, i have both, you can send a private message if you're interested.

I moved the dealer sticker to a spot closer to the bumper. I may remove it, but it isn't really obnoxious--has nice raised silver lettering and the name of our town on it....
I took the car on its first long ride today about an hour south to my daughter's--a mixture of some highway driving (not interstate) and in town roads. If the readout on the dash is correct, I averaged 40.6 mpg for this trip.
I was pleasantly surprised. I did put it in cruise control for part of the highway driving when going 60 - 65 mph.
In town for the few miles I have driven seem to averaged 28 -31 mpg. I am at high altitude (~ 5000 feet) --do you think that might make a difference in mpg?
The new little Fit experienced its first rainfall (I was praying it wouldn't hail) and also hauled some shrubs and mulch--it got its first dirt spilled inside, too....

is it a manual or automatic transmission? were you using air conditioning? i need to use it mostly to clean the air because my allergies are acting badly.

I have an automatic--no a/c on yesterday. I had the rear windows about 1/2 way open & the fan blowing on the 2nd setting.
I noticed while riding in town the other night that as soon as I turned the air on, my mpg dropped quite a bit.
I read on another fit forum that the auto sport got better mileage than the manual which makes no sense to me.

Auto trans Fits CAN get better HIGHWAY mileage than manual trans. because the gear ratio in fifth gear of the automatic transmission is higher than the fifth gear ratio in the manual trans. That means that an A/T Fit, at highway speeds, has the engine turning over at a lower RPM than a manual Fit at the same highway speed. This reduction in engine RPM is significant, but mountain dwellers won't see as much fuel savings as flat-landers. Personally, I would rather drive in the mountains any day.

Did you get the famous "Helicopter" noise riding with your back windows partially down?

YES! --when I had the driver side rear window down about half way.... I didn't seem to notice it on the passenger side. Sounded like a large bird flapping it's wings near my head...

The noise is nothing but irritation it won't harm anything. It's just the air coming into the car and only seems to pop up with the rear windows part way open. You can try adjusting the rear window opening little by little until you hit the sweet spot and the noise goes away. :p

Nice looking car. That's kind of new that you want to rock both the Fit and Jazz badge. Also most people debadged the dealer stickers not relocate them.
