Finally got around to fixing something that has been bugging me for years. It seems that my wife plants her big foot just where my generic floor mat doesn't cover.
Got these mats because they look good and on my side I have no problems.
But for some unknown reason whenever we go somewhere in the Jazz my wife's left foot always ends up on the cheapo Honda carpet in the only spot the added floor mats don't cover.

It really gets to me when cleaning the car and I have to really go over this spot several times to vacuum up all her unnecessary dirt on the carpet.
I have tried begging and pleading with her to keep her dirty shoes on the mat to no avail.
So it was time for a fix. While I was cleaning out my car parts storage area the other day getting out our fishing poles I noticed rolled up in the corner the cheap rubber mats the dealer threw in when I bought the Jazz and had a brain storm and thought why not?

So I got out my tools and prepared for an afternoon taking the side plastic off and figured I would be awhile cutting and fitting a section of the old mat.
Wrong there is just enough clearance between the plastic side cover to slide part of the rubber mat inside without taking the cover off and once it's pushed in about an inch or so the plastic holds the rubber in place.
On the top edge between the a/c unit and the firewall was another perfect sized clearance to kind off stuff the rubber mat up in that space.
So with only cutting a right sized section from the old rubber mat and stuffing it in place and flopping the carpet mat on top if it the new section fits perfect and it looks like it will stay in the right place without screws, glue or anything else, holding it in place it just stays right there.

All and all very easy to do it only took like 10 minutes from start to finish.
Now if I can only think of something other than barbwire to keep her foot off the plastic molding in the same area that you can see scratches on.
