Wow I need one of these. When I win powerball I would get one of these :)
Ford has turned the RS into a manic front-wheel-drive with 350 ponies to deal with under its bonnet.

- Man, that colour looks cool!
You bet, and that is certainly the way to go in making a special edition of a high-performance car. In this case, we are talking about the Ford Focus RS which has evolved into a beast known as RS500.
Ford calls such livery black "foil" paint which makes the car look like Darth Vadar's choice of transport. As seen is these official pictures, the paint's effect is best appreciated with sunlight filtering in setting the surrounds aglow.
Whereas other brands are turning to flashy colours like green and orange (like the Lexus LFA Nurburgring in the report below), Ford has seemingly made a tasteful choice with that carbon-like feel that helps bring out the aggressive lines of the RS.

I heard mention about this new version on "Top Gear" (TV Show- BBC) a few months ago, but this is the first photo of it that I have seen Thanks for the post & links!

Mmmmm, perty!!! I'd still go for a WRX or Sti swapped 98-01 Subaru Impreza RS, but that is really nice. Too bad it'll probably never come to the states.

It would be nice to see Ford (or anyone else) start a trend toward neck-snapping, kick ass hatchbacks that look GOOD (in the U.S., not just Europe, Asia and Au.).

That color gives this Fiesta it's deserved "Mean" look, much more aggressive than the bright green of the standard Fiesta that I saw in the Top Gear Videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGJPE0KkB5o&feature=related).

I agree about the colors, but I think that the high horsepower Ford hatch that I saw some time ago on "Top Gear" was a European version of the Focus (could be wrong though).

I read about it awhile back and the engineering that has gone into this thing is amazing.....Fat chance that I will ever live long enough to see anything like this on the road much less in my driveway.... It's just as well, I would end up under the jail house if I got my hands on one.

Yea they will probably get here some illegal or grey market way as with over 225 HP the taxes are almost 100%. But someone here will have one the rich Thais are car crazy paying like $200,000 for some BMWs and $1,000,000 for Ferraris.

Be tough to work with the torque steer even on my old ford feista with about 100hp you could feel it if you got on it hard.

The article that I read wasn't about this limited production model but the regular RS that this one is an improved, more powerful version of....The article specifically addressed the improvements to the steering that had made so much difference in reducing torque steer that it made fwd more feasible than awd.... I guess that the extra 50 HP must have proven to be a bit much for the new design to handle.... The old VW Rabbits with out power steering had a surprising amount of torque steer and the diesels with only 60HP even more so.

It would be hard to find ways to improve a little road rocket like that.... A weighted gearshift knob with a high price tag for adding status.

Wow! Thanks heman, my mouth is watering from those photos, and my left foot and right hand are itchy with anticipation. I wonder if the interior design has any of the utility features that make the Fit so useful. I would sure like to swap those RS seats into my Fit.

It should be a capital offence for anyone caught altering a RS500 in any way.... I think that car is about as close the perfection as anything that sheiks are buying.

wish they would send that to the U.S. but chances are that none of us will ever even see one. kinda sad becuase i always thought that the RS foci would have sold well here, the first gen rs is still one of my fav cars. even the cossworth escorts are bad ass, some of those were 500hp monsters(track version) out of a turbo 4
