I was taking out my spark plugs today to do a compression test (which I couldn't do due to the compression gauge's hose not being able to turn in the tight space...) and I noticed that my #3 coil pack looks like it got burned? The pink/red part of it is slightly brownish now and definitely stands out from the other three coils. The plug itself looked fine and no different from the other plugs. Could this be an issue? I reinstalled the plugs & packs and went for some boosted 0-60 runs and everything feels fine as usual.

If you got your car used the other 3 coil packs may have been replaced before you got it.... The number three looks older..... It would be the first one to look at if there is ever an ignition miss but not anything to worry about.

My car brand new had one that was slightly different from the factory. Still going strong.

Okay thanks. Car was new when I bought it, all 4 packs looked the same color when I changed spark plugs 6-7k miles ago is why I asked.

How did the plug from that hole look at the firing end? Maybe it's time to use some dialectic silicone the next time you have it apart.

Plug itself looked fine. I'll probably use the dielectric grease next time I open it up... seems to be fine for now though.

As long as you have no misfires and or the common problem of shaking at certain speeds there should be no problem. Not too much to check on them either they are working fine or they crap right out.
