Stereo Firmware

Is there a way to upgrade the firmware on the stereo system on my '09 Sport with Navi? I know I can update the maps but the stereo does not recognize iPhone properly. Is this possible via DIY or through the dealership?

I have a 2010 Fit Sport without navi but the stereo does not recognize my Iphone either. It does seem to recognize my daughters Ipod nano through the auxilary or USB connection in my glove box. Same with my wife's 2009 CR-V.

I concur. I would also like to know if anyone's aware of any firmware updates for the stereo.
I've done a few Google searches throughout the past year or so, and have yet to find anything. I'm hoping for some improved ipod functionality. (one can hope, right?) :-)
