Unable to view pics/links in posts

Hey all,

I am not sure if this is something I did when setting up my account, but whenever someone posts a pic or link of a pic in their post I am unable to view it. Any help would be appreciated

Wish that I could help, but I have absolutely no idea what is causing your problem. Try going back through your sign-up procedure and see if there is anything that you left blank?

I feel vfr's pain too same thing the best I get is an hppt address or the RED X in a box could we have a class on how to properly down load pix? I personally love to see and post pix in messages.

I have only guesses as advice to share- obviously this doesn't happen to me. If you are not using it now, try Firefox as your browser and/or lower your security settings a notch (?). Just guessing here, and I'm sorry for your difficulties. I don't think that the web site is preventing your ability to see the photos, because there are only the two of you having this problem. Another thing that you might try is to right click on the place where the image should be, then left click on the menu "open in new page".

All of my images in my threads are hosted by imageshack.us with thumbnails showing in my posts. Are you guys not able to see the thumbs, or to bring up larger photos by clicking on the thumbs?

what are thumbs? What i did in ff was bring the photos in to the forum in an album in a desktop shortcut. But when i try to copy and paste to a post from the album in the forum (here) all i get is the RedX or an address route, but notta pix?
in the other forum ff that's all i did and it worked. i am not the web exstrorinair computor gooroo I figure this forum is a basic layout that all forums are written on.

I see claymore can retreave a pic and add it to a post ....................

I wish that I understood what you just said----- If you can post photos anywhere else that work the way that you want, post them the same way here. It should work fine. there is nothing weird or special about this site that I know of.

When I want to post a photo that I have uploaded to my library on imgageshack.us, I click on the photo to highlight it, then click on the "get code for forums (or web sites, which is a larger photo), then copy and paste the code in my forum post. I use thumbnails in my posts, so your should see a thumbnail photo. It is actually a link to the imageshack.us site, and when you click on the thumbnail, you see the larger image on the imagshack site.

Other members use different photo host web sites, that may have different methods to show photos on these forums. If you can't see them, it isn't the fault of our web site, at least as far as I know.

You can use photos you have saved somewhere even in your files or at a hosting service. Stand by and I will post a thread on how to post photos in a new thread STICKED.

You seem to be talking about two issues here. You can't see photos that are posted here, and you can't post photos here the same way that you post them on the freak site. I suggest that you choose a photo host site like imageshack or photobucket, upload the images that you want to post here, and obtain the codes from that site for your posts here. I'm not a web "gooroo" either- once I find something that works, I stick with it.

Maybe claymore will have something to add that will be of more help. In Calgary, Alberta, Canada, parlance, "Eh??"
