I got a replacement Door for my side garage door that was kicked in a month or so back. When I put it in the car it whacked the rearview mirror. I didn't think much of it until I got into the car and noticed that the mount wasn't sitting right and could be easily wiggled. The mirror came off the ceiling!! I pulled it off, but while driving at night in the rain I couldn't quite see how it attached. I could feel a loose piece of sheet metal where it mounted. I was thinking the whole drive home that I was going to have to buy a new mirror.
Once I got the door out of the car, I unscrewed the mounting plate. It uses a piece of sheet spring steel with 4 fingers that hold a screw headed bolt. All I had to do was unscrew that bolt, connect it to the mounting plate and screw it back into the ceiling. All told it took under 5 minutes. It is a great design. Much more secure than GM's idea of sticking a metal button to the windshield, and with a designed in breakaway feature to avoid damage from careless loaders.
So many wonderful little features in this car that many will never notice, but make ownership so nice. :D
