Hello, I am new to this board, so hello everyone. We have an 07 Fit Sport that seems to have very poor blower motor performance, and i think a clogged drain line from the condenser. No water in the car yet, but I can hear it. I have had to unclog my Element's hose twice, and I am wondering where it is on the Fit.
Does anyone else have a blower that seems weak? I can only compare mine to the Element and my work truck, and they are both much stronger.

Has the power of your blower motor become less over time? Was it this weak when the car was new?

I think that it has gotten worse, but I can't swear to it. I switch between the cars so much it is tough to tell.

Well, in your place, I would take it to your dealer for warranty repair (if you still have warranty coverage left). If warranty is gone, they'll charge you at least a $100.00 diagnostic fee to test the blower motor. If the current draw is not within specs., the motor could be failing. If you have any mechanical experience, you can probably buy a new motor and do the replacement yourself. That is, if you have a garage available to work in. Doing car repairs outside in a New Jersey winter IS NOT something that I would do (my wife is a Newark native and I've been there in January).

It would probably be worth the dealer diagnostic fee to find out if there really is a problem with the blower and the A/C condenser. You can buy the necessary parts much cheaper on-line than from a local dealer.

What I'd love to do is find someone else near here who owns one. I could compare the output in about 10 seconds, and know if I had a problem. Then take it from there.
How's the weather in the San Lorenzo Valley, and do you need any film carpenters out there?

Filmcarp,
It could be that your Cabin Filter is clogged with dust, etc. Try changing that out if it hasn't already been done.

Are they behind the glove box like they are on my element?

Good suggesxtion from macbuddy- yes it is behind the glove box. In the San Lorenzo Valley, and over the entire CA coast, we are in the middle of three to four successive rain storms. Up to 15" of rain is expected here in Central CA by Thurs. night.

To find another New Jersey GD3 to compare blower electrical demand, look on fitfreak.net forums. One user name that I remember is Fitdeez in NJ. Don't know how close to you he lives though. There are lots of GD3 owners in NJ. Good luck!

WTF is a film carpenter?

Good call macbuddy, that was my initial thought too.

Yeah, the filter was packed with crud. I went to 5 auto parts stores with no luck. My stealership wanted 26 bucks for one, so I bought it through Amazon for $14.50. Now I just need to find the drain hose for the condensate.

Thanks, everyone.

Nice job. Better than naming yourself after a fish wrapped in Saranwrap.
