And I like it! Much cleaner.

Note to those getting excited:

Please don't use fiberglass or body filler to do this, ABS has different thermal expansion properties, and it will crack eventually.

An ABS filler plate and a liquid ABS epoxy were the only materials used in this. Plasto-flex 2 part epoxy filler primer made specifically for ABS was also used prior to the base coat. If your going to do it, do it right. If you can't afford to do it right, that's OK, just don't do it.

That is really clean. Not something I would do to my own ride. I use that rear wiper just enough to keep it,

Do you have any advice on getting that piece out. Im having trouble with all the clips.

You need to take the inner tailgate trim piece off. There's a 10mm bolt to the left. I used pliers to compress the clips and push them out from the back.

Pop the two on the bottom of the hatch by pushing in on the tiny nub in the center then pry them out carefully. Then pry carefully on the two tabs on the housing to hold onto the hatch and wiggle it out. The rest are on the inner side and just pop out. Pull out on the lower end on either side and get one started then you can slide your hand inside to help pop them out from the inside.

Then like markymark said one bolt and a couple of clips.
