I've read on a couple Fit forums how people say the Fits aren't fast. Now for the most part, they probably won't shine in the 1/4 mile but I was on the freeway today and got stuck between about six 18-wheelers with one driver who appeared to be drunk and I wanted to get out of there in a hurry.

At the time, I was doing about 70mph and she quickly accelerated to 100mph without even so much as batting an eye. Our Fits may be slow(er) off the line but they really seem to accelerate quickly when at speed. They really love the higher rpm's.

And doing a 200 mile trip on half a tank was just the icing on the cake! :)

I agree with you. I could have spent thousands more for a "muscle car" with 1/3 the fuel economy, but my Fit does everything I need from a car and I never feel that I need any more than it can give. The "it's so slooow" complaints are posted by the children.

BTW, the faster acceleration that you get from the NTD Throttle Controller is equally effective at freeway speeds. The SP Mode in the higher numbers really changes the whole personality of the car.

Well it is a Honda so it loves to rev. I dont know how it is for the MT but in the AT 2nd or 3rd gear (cant remember) at around 35mph you hit it and the car will pull pretty good.

I was at a light me in the right lane and some D-bag in the left. I knew what he was planning, he was going to dart in front of me to get ahead so he could be on the freeway first. I wasn't going to have any of that so when the light turned green I put it to the floor. I had my winter tires on and it was cold so to my surprise I spun it off the line, witch pissed me off because he then started pulling on me. When my car did get traction I was able to stick with him just enough so he had to back down and get behind me. As I passed him he gave me this look of confusion and pissed off, it was priceless.

Yo Tiny-

Y'know, we are supposed to jump all over you for talk of racing on these forums, just like the freak site. But since you weren't discussing an actual street race, AND SINCE YOU DID EXACTLY WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE in the same circumstances (if I had your car, and even in mine), I will leave your story as-is.

I think that I might get myself into serious trouble with a boosted Fit in your weather/road conditions. It snows here maybe once in 4-5 years, and normally melts within 48 hours. Those 48 hours are a delight for the tow-truck operators and the body shops.

I like you and your car, so be careful this winter. Merry Christmas!

P.s. Like many Fit owners, I hate it when other drivers take one look at a tiny Honda and assume that we are just wasting space, just in the way, and the driver can't drive. I am always happy to rub their noses in their in their own ignorance. If my Fit had the secret weapon of a supercharger, achieving the same lesson would be a little faster, but at the expense of fuel economy. The "faster" aspect of achieving the same ends would be fun, but I can achieve it without the purchase of a supercharger. Again, no criticism of the guys with boost. I am still thinking about NOS. just not sure that I want to devote my cargo space to holding a bottle that i won't use much.
