Hi Panson,

I saw your fitfreak post that mentioned your new web site, and visited the site. I saw the presently blank page for the lights. Please try to remember to post on these forums when you have anything new to sell for Fit customization. I am certainly interested in any LED products that you may offer.

Actually, I have got message from the other manufacturer willing to offer their LED side mirror cap. But I immediately found out there is already one selling on ebay click here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/09-10-HONDA-FIT-JAZZ-MK2-JDM-LED-SIDE-MIRROR-COVER-SET_W0QQitemZ350268266359QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors _Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item518d9d9777)

This is the picture they offered http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/8781/ledsidemirrorcoverforfi.jpg
Of course, our price will be better than what they would offer on ebay, but the main reason I hesitated and deleted what i originally posted in this thread is

1. The LED mirror covers come in unpainted condition.
2. The covers itself only fits JDM FIT. I saw some posts on fitfreak talking about the side mirror difference between USDM and JDM.

Let me get more detail from that LED manufacturer to see what I can do.

Thanks for asking
Panson

Panson,

It is very interesting to watch a car parts vendor become established on some forums, and offer good quality customizing parts. You are doing a great job in establishing a good reputation.

I am interested in the lighted side mirrors, but not interested enough to pay the price for the OEM optional mirrors from Honda in Japan. I emailed one Ebay vendor asking about the stick-on mirror LED strips that he was selling, but did not receive a reply. I will be watching for any news from you on your product. Thanks for your good work.

Panson,
I have a friend up the street from me who is a retired auto body repairman. Through him, I have the ability to paint the mirror covers to match my car. I am interested in this product, so please keep us all advised about any future developments. We hope that your product line continues to develop new accessories for the Fit.

Thanks,
Dave

Panson,

When you can, please let us know what is involved in the installation. Do we have to cut and splice wiring to the turn signal circuit, or is this a "plug & play" that uses plugs that already exist in the car for USDM models?
USDM Fits do not use lighted side mirrors, but the wiring for those lights may be in the car.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

I just got back from a business trip and had the real sample in hand.
This LED side mirror cover would involve partial wiring job for its function.
I am waiting for our technician to send me the detail installation guide, but at the mean time, I can send you a testing sample first to see if the JDM specific side mirror cover fits USDM Fit.

Let me know

Panson,

I would really like to be of service to you with this product. If you send the basic cover, all that I can promise to do is to hold it against the stock mirror to compare dimensions. I am not willing to actually remove my own mirror cover, because that would almost certainly cause damage to the paint. I will also check my Fit Service manual to see if there are instructions for removal of the cover. If this is an easy, no damage procedure, I will let you know that an actual installation of your example is possible.

If I hold the open area of your example against the mirror face on my Fit, it should be very easy to see if it matches the contour of the stock mirror, and that should be all that is necessary to assure us that it will fit USDM cars, just as long as the cavity of the example appears to have the same depth as the stock cover. I can also have a friend hold the example while the size comparison is being done while I take some photos. I can post the photos here and ask for feedback from our members.

Installation info. from your tech. will be absolutely necessary to give your potential customers the confidence to buy the product. After the comparison and photos are done, I will be happy to return the example cover to you at my expense. Priority Mail is fairly cheap.

OK, for those who own the Fit Service Manual, page 20-39 tells you how to remove the "mirror holder" so that the glass can be removed, and page 20-40 tells you how to reach into the cavity and release the clips that hold the top half of the mirror body to the flat bottom piece. The manual assumes that you are replacing a damaged mirror body, and the curved top of the body won't take repeated removal and replacement without damaging the paint along the bottom edges of the upper body. You can install a new top (like the lighted version that we are discussing here) with no damage, but removing it and reinstalling it will leave scratches.

For the interested forum members---

Today, Panson sent me a PM asking for my shipping address so that he can send me the example of the lighted mirror cover. Whatever information that I can develop will be posted in this thread, along with photos. We will ask for member feed-back.

As I told Panson, I like lighted side mirrors because they make it even more obvious to surrounding traffic that you are signaling your intention to turn. But this style will be a matter of personal taste. Some people don't like side moldings and/or hood deflectors in spite of their obvious advantages on a Fit. I expect the same reaction to this accessory, and Panson does not expect to sell them to everyone. Soooo, watch for future developments!

Where does it mount? Do you have any pictures or links? It's hard to asses something based solely on its name. :)

Something like this

Is it the yellow light above the actual headlight? Or is it the whole headlight assembly itself? I'm very new to lighting mods and apologize if I'm being dense. :)

OK, Google helped me out. :) I get it now.

Naw that is what other than USDM turn signals look like inside the chrome headlight housing. angel eyes is the white looking ring surrounding the headlight itself. It turns on and in the dark looks like your a driving with at a UFO around your headlights.

Yep, like claymore said- those glowing rings have been shown around the fit forums for years. I would assume that you have to take the headlight body apart to mount the angel eye components, then glue it back together. The look is interesting, but having to take the headlight apart, if necessary, would kill my interest.

I received two examples from Panson today, of the LED mirror covers. One example must be the JDM version, because it is too small to fit our GE8's. Or, maybe that one is for a GD3, but since I don't have one (a GD3), I don't know (the silver example, Panson). The other example is painted VBP (blue), and that one looks like it will be an exact fit.

These look much better in person than they do in any of the photos I have seen, and the LED lens is much more narrow than I expected. That's a good thing. Depending upon how much of a hassle it is to wire these up to the turn signal circuit, I would be interested in buying a set. Again, that depends- too much hassle, I won't buy. But the looks are quite good.

I shot a few not-so-good photos and will post them here when I can. It will be raining over the next few days, but if I get the chance, I will shoot better photos and post them up too.

Panson, you have a PM.

Thanks for your efforts so far on this product. It shows promise!
