I bought the cheap ($25.00) eBay 3rd Brake Light, and half way through the install, I decided that I didn't want such a badly made piece of crap in my car. So I bought the twice as much, high quality 3rd. Brake Light from One Stop Customs who advertises on fitfreak.net. The quality brake light is on its way. When I receive it, I will post photos and install info. that will persuade smart people to stay away from the cheap light.

Wow!!

I received the DaiLED brand '09 Fit thrid Brake Light today from OneStopCustoms.com. What an amazing difference in quality from the cheap crap being sold on eBay and being sold on Fitfreak.net by "Atticus". The higher price (double) of the DaiLED brake light is more than compensated by the fact that it comes with its own circuit board that you trade for the stock brake light circuit board. The cheapo brand DOES NOT come with its own circuit board, just a really shitty adaptor fitting that leaves uninsulated pins exposed to both current from the electrical wiring and the heavy moisture that we all see on the inside of the rear glass in cold weather. Corrosion and short-circuits are almost guaranteed with the cheap light's electrical connections.

It just takes once screw to swap the boards. The DaiLED has more LEDs which makes the FIT letters bigger and more bold, and it has little "dashes" at each side of the letters. The dashes flash when the brakes are on- gets the attention of the driver behind you even more than the red letters. This is a 6-10 minute install, and you absolutely cannot have any of the electrical problems that owners of the Hong Kong cheapo light have complained about. Unlike the crap lights, the connectors on this one are first-class and foolproof.

Well, almost--- I have met some fools who can screw up anything, but they only read fitfreak.net as long as the words aren't too big, but they can't even write.

I will post photos within the next few days. I am always happy to report on great products, and this is one.

"And now------ The REST of the story" (Paul Harvey, RIP)

What "Nacho" (Alex) from OneStopCustoms sent me was a LED third brake light that has a dash before and after the FIT letters, that rapidly flash when the brakes are on, but the dashes are BLUE. Here in CA, only law enforcement vehicles can legally have BLUE lights. This will probably get me a ticket, even though the blue dashes will generate even more attention than if they were red.

I emailed Nacho about this potential problem, and he will replace my light with the legal "all red" third brake light ASAP. In the meantime, I will visit my local CHP office, ask them to look at my light, and ask them what could be wrong with a third brake light that gets even more attention than usual?

I will only ask Nacho for an all red replacement if my present third brake light guarantees me a ticket. Feel free to order from him--- all of the lights that he has coming into stock all are red. He oinly sent me this one because he didn't know that the dashes were blue. New customers won't have this problem, if it is indeed a problem at all. If the cops don't object, I won't replace it.

So, the point- Alex is a good vendor, selling high quality products with great customer service. Order from him with confidence- you won't be disappointed.

Here's an image of the high quality light:

The flashing dashes on my present light are blue. The dashes on the lights that you would order from this vendor are red (legal).
