I know everybody want's to believe the other sources on the Jazz Vtec being only 12/16 valves BUT this is the system description STRAIGHT FROM THE HONDA REPAIR MANUAL
VTEC System L15A1 engine
* The VTEC system changes the cam profile to correspond to the engine speed by the VTEC solenoid valve. It maximizes torque at low engine speeds and output at high engine speed.
* The low lift cam is used at low engine speeds, and the high lift cam is used at high engine speeds.
The JAZZ DOES have a true Vtec with both low AND HIGH lift lobes on the cam. Just look in the manual for photos in the adjusting the valves section and you can see THREE lobes for each two valves. One on each side low lift then in the middle the HIGH LIFT LOBE used when Vtec engages and locks both valves together.
