To macbuddy, EXWRX, and Bap--

Did you guys have your camping Fit meet? If so, please tell the forum members how it went. If not, or if not yet, I would like to arrange a BBQ Fit Meet at Mt. Madonna Park (between Watsonville and Gilroy, CA) sometime before the summer ends. I am assuming that Jeff (EXWRX) has finished adjusting his new coilover suspension by now.

The only regret that I have about not being able to access the fitfreak.net forums is the inability to help normal, intelligent people there (few though they may be), and being able to contact you guys easily. For the Mt. Madonna meet, I would like to expose you to the best exhaust system for GD3 and GE8 Fits that I have ever heard---- (my Aero Turbine).

I am posting this on the open forums to encourage other members to organize their own "Fit Meets" in their own local areas.

macbuddy- you told me two weeks ago that you were going to send me software for "anonymous web surfing". If I had it, I could log onto fitfreak. If you are not going to send it, please let me know, and I will subscribe to a proxy server network to access fitfreak. ------ Thanks.

Dave:D

It didn't happen. Bap was unable to get a campsite, so it kinda fell apart. :( I was really looking forward to trying the Endura Tech coilovers out on a nice beautiful drive.

Oh well, life is full of disappointments. The drive to Mt. Madonna will be fun, but won't give your coilovers much of a test. (Traffic will almost certainly limit your speed). For a real test (again, limited by slow drivers ahead of us), it would be best to meet up at the Home Depot in Watsonville- the best curves are on the West side of the mountain). For YOUR convenience, you would be better off heading to Mt. Madonna Park from the East, then go home heading West downhill for the sake of the coilovers. Then head North on Hwy. 1 to connect with Northbound Hwy. 17 to 280 East, then 680 North, then 580 East over Altamont Pass to Tracy. Depending on the day of the meet, there will be less traffic on Saturdays, and the earlier the better.

This is all on Hwy. 152, called by different names from the East or West- in Watonsville, it's "Hecker Pass".

P.s. There are several EXCELLENT wineries, between Gilroy and the top of the mountain, on the North side of the road. Great wines, and even better vinegars!.

That could be fun. The challenge is finding a free weekend. The next few weeks look pretty bad, but maybe in about a month I'll have some free time. :o

Wine... isn't vinegar just wine that didn't "make the cut"...................

Hey Dave,
Hmm...Watsonville? We just got back from our vacation at Pajaro Dunes. On our way home, we made our traditional stop for lunch at the Santa Cruz Wharf for Clam Chowder and Calamari Rings. Just after leaving Santa Cruz, we passed by a sign that read "Boulder Creek." Were we close to where you live?
Anyway, before vacation, I was only able to find a "burned copy" that I once made. I was not able to find the original that I wanted to send you. However, due to this reminder, your subtle "prodding" must have fired a synapse in my brain. I was able to remember exactly where I had stashed the original CD, user manual, and box that it shipped in. Yes, I finally located the software that I promised you.

PS-I will get this software sent out tomorrow. Look for it at your P.O. Box address.

Thanks Mike-

I figured that maybe it was lost. I will find another way, if necessary, to needle the people on fitfreak who need it, and will return your CD after I get it loaded. I just didn't want to pay a subscription to a proxy service if your software had any chance of still arriving.

On your vacation trip after leaving the wharf, if your route took you near a crossing with Highway 9, the sign may have said "To Boulder Creek". Traveling Hwy. 9, Boulder Creek is about 12 miles north of central Santa Cruz.

I didn't mean to embarrass you- just have too little time to jump back and forth from forums to email right now.
