The Obama Administration, my children's children's children, the generosity of China, and most of all, the fine engineers at Honda, for studying hard, sweating the details, and doing everything it took to provide us with such a fine little car.
On Saturday, we traded our beloved Dodge Grand Caravan for an 09 Milano Red Fit Sport AT. Then, on Sunday, I drove it over 840 miles, from Chicago to Cleveland, and back. On that trip, I enjoyed 44.7 mpg. Wow.
What surprised me even more, was just how fun the Fit is. We also have an 02 Miata, an 07 CX-7, 2 Fieros (84 and 88), a Grand Marquis, an 06 Corolla (our daughter's car), and an 07 Ninja 250. The Fit can more than hold its own with any of these cars, and flat out blows a few of them away.
The steering especially, wow. I'm shocked at how nice a front wheel drive car can be made to steer....
So I'm looking forward to a bunch of years with the Fit, and lurking on this fine site as I try to learn all about it. I may even ask a few questions or contribute.
Cheers!
