Base or Sport?

Test drove the fit sport 5 speed yesterday, very nice car, but my budget says buy the base model, which the dealer doesn't currently have. So convince me the sport is worth the extra $1500. Or not. Is the sport worth the extra $$? I like the larger wheels and tires, but the rest, not sure its worth the outlay and higher loan payments.

I got the 07 base, I drove the sport with the paddle shifter, for the extra amount, I got the base auto. 62k 21mos, no one has bothered the car even with lo-jack and key pad set up. I purchased a runner and and excellent one at that. It would be your personal choice. 1500.00 can buy a lot of gas for looks, and lower payments.

It depends mostly on your budget. If things are close enough that you're concerned about it I would say buy the base model. After all, the extra cost of a Sport is all for glitz. The basic car is still the same car and in real life it is nothing more than a mode of transportation.
