there have been a few, maybe more than a few, times where my car doesn't recognize my key. i have to take it out, and wait for a few seconds, then try again to start the car. has anyone else had this happen? my fit is a 2007, base, 5 speed... which i LOVE by the way.

Sorry so late in responding, but I JUST joined today.

The transponder in your key head is one of around a billion different codes.

The immobilizer control unit, around the ignition cylinder, activates it.

You might have a bad ECM/PCM, or control unit.

Let's see: 2007 model is still under warranty, is it not?!
