Honda recommends using gasoline that is considered Top Tier Gasoline.
that is gasoline that sets the standard in premium gasoline performance.
Honda is one of the 6 Automakers that recognize that current EPA minimum detergent requirements do NOT go far enough to ensure optimal engine performance

Wikipedia has an entry for Top Tier (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Tier_Detergent_Gasoline) rather muting its importance except in high performance cars, and suggesting that a carbon cleaning additive every 100,000 miles would suffice. Nevertheless I take the conservative approach of going out of my way to fill up with a Top Tier gas despite Wiki. Wonder if anyone has a deeper analysis of the matter? ... Ed

If you have ever taken apart a modern engine using normal unleaded fuel that is available now at any fuel station you would see that any worries about deposits is unfounded.

The modern engines run so much hotter and at higher revolutions than the old leaded fuel type that any "build up" of unburnt fuel or carbon is virtually nil.

With the old engines lead build up was misidentified as carbon deposits and it did occur in engines that were driven slowly on short trips with little highway use. But Fit engines do not fall into that category so no worries these companies are just using scare tactics to sell their product.

Same goes for seafoam and any other additive for chamber cleaning they are simply UNNECESSARY unless you never drive over 25mph or never get on an expressway type road.

If when you change your spark plugs there is any EVIDENCE of fouling it can be "cured"
simply by running a one step hotter heat range spark plug.

Or taking a nice high speed run down your local expressway running the engine up to redline between gear changes a couple times.

There is no need for excess speed simply pull to the side of the highway and when traffic is clear floor the throttle and run it to red line in the lower gears and let off when you reach the speed limit.
