Hello everyone, I just bought a new 2008 Fit Sport w/ automatic trans. I am interested in adding performance bolt-on's to my new car. I have been looking at cold air intakes from AEM and Injen on line. Also considering exaust.
Anyone out there been down these roads? I am Interested in any real life feedback on any mods tried.
Thanks, EXACTA:D

there are several online shops that sell peformance mods for the Fit. I just recently purchased an 08 storm silver sport model myself. if you want, check out shops like jhpusa, a&j racing, icbmotorsport, etc. on the other fit forums, like fitfreak.net, there are several vendors on there that cater to Fit enthusiasts. also check out Siphon magazine, they sometimes do writeups on installing performance upgrades to the Fit, as well as list shops that sell products for the Fit. there are plenty of places to find info on upgrades and results of said upgrades if you can find them online. hope this helped a little.:)

Hi people,
I'm new here, but had 2-1/2 years on fitfreak.net. On my '07 Sport A/T, I used the new PRM Cold Air intake system. One of the mods on fitfreak had his '08 Sport dynoed with the PRM intake, and the hp gain was 8+ horsepower. The price is very competitive with all name-brands of CAI and Short Rams. The difference with PRM is that hydrolock is not an issue- can't happen.
I now have a new '09 Fit, and have the new version of the PRM CAI intake on it as well. The intake was dyno tested with, again, 8+ hp gains.

To reinforce manxman, I also just installed a PRM and am really pleased with how much punchier the car feels - and the sound is awesome. Although not 100% dedicated fresh-air like the Injen, for instance, it does make use of the intake port that Honda uses for fresh air intake, from the fenderwell which receives a boost from the bumper vent near the fog light. So it is for the most part an ambient-air intake, but you don't have to remove the front bumper to install and service the air filter, and hydrolock is never an issue. You should check out manxman's post on the exhaust system. If you like dual-outlet mufflers, Megan Racing makes a really nice one that sure sounds sweet on my car. In combination with the intake sound (most noticeable to the driver with the window down since the fenderwell is right there) I feel like I'm playing a 117 hp musical instrument.

I also had the Megan Racing dual tip axle back exhaust, and the sound was very nice- not overly loud at all. On GD3's, the PRM intake and Megan muffler were spectacular. Also, the price on eBay for the Megan exhaust was so low, compared to the other name brand systems, it was impossible for me not to at least try it.

No. Why don't you be the first, and show us all how easy it is?

I have to agree though I have no experience with either product other than what has been said by reliable sources and what I have seen on a couple of Fit owner's cars.... The Megan exhaust looks and sounds great.....The PRM intake was on a car used for auto cross and it was a quick little car.

I just wanted to say dont expect large gains from intake and exhaust, all though that PRM intake does sound promising. when I did my Baseline Dyno I had a Fujita SAI and Spoon catback exhaust. The car made 85whp

When you get right down to it, reducing unsprung weight and rotating mass by swapping the stock wheels and tires for the lightest you can find is going to have more influence on the overall performance of your car than any bolt on. I know, I sound like a broken record.

I don't agree with much that JDMChris says, but his statement that "The PRM Intake is the best on the market" IS TRUE. I have owned two of them- one on a GD and the other on my present '09 GE. It makes 8+ whp, is simple and streamlined in design (nothing there that doesn't need to be- no unnecessary tubing to pick up under-hood heat and no needless bulk taking up room in the engine bay), it is simple to clean, and costs less than many of its competitors offering less performance. 8 whp gain is as large as I have seen for any intake system.

EXACTA,
I also have a 5/AT, and love the paddles! I thought about your question and this is what I came up with:
GRADiNG NOTICEABLE EFFECTIVENESS OF PERFORMANCE MODS:
A+) Rear Sway Bar (I run a Progress RSB (http://www.hondafitforums.com/showthread.php?t=638))-a 30 minute job
A ) Throttle controller (I run a BLITZ (http://www.blitzperformancesales.com/products/throcon/throcon.html), but would consider NTD (http://www.hondafitforums.com/showthread.php?t=644))-a 10-20 minute install
A+) lowering springs (consider Swift Springs (http://garagespec.com/catalog/swift-sport-mach-spring-honda-p-1990.html?currency=USD&language=en), I ran a Skunk2 (http://www.hondafitforums.com/showthread.php?t=745) set)-3-5 hours?
A ) Intake Mod (I enjoy running an Injen CAI (http://www.injen.com/galleries/products/5220071001SP1511_hd.pdf), I would also consider a PRM (http://www.prmracing.com/cold-air-intake-system/cold-air-intake-products.html))-2-3 hours
A ) Headers (I enjoy running a DC Ceramic Sports header (http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=DC41HEAD01&c=PE))-4-5 hours job
A-) Exhaust mod (I enjoy a weld-on MagnaFlow (http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=8045))-45 minute job at muffler shop
A ) Sticker Tires (I've run Yokohama S. Drives, (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=S.drive) and Toyo T1Rs (http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/toyo-proxes-t1r-c-6424_4924_5694_5766.html), both are great!)
A+) Lighter Wheels (Enkei RPF-1s (http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/21-1049.html) and Buddy Club SF Challenge (http://www.clubrsx.com/cr/BCS-4LSFC15.html) were my choices)
F ) VTEC stickers (http://i35.tinypic.com/2whmrz7.jpg) (negligible performance gain detected)-1 minute install

I really am impressed with how well the Swift Mach Springs have improved the handling without turning my car into a torture device..... I think I can handle having my front lip scraping a little more frequently than it did with stock springs considering how great it feels and looks.... I have to go faster on twisty curving roads to feel as challenged as I did on stock springs and I thought they were just wonderful..... I may not change anything else on the suspension it feels so stable while trying to induce a skid or other negative results by jerking the steering wheel from side to side at high speeds.... The little car feels very European when at speed.
