Konig Feather and I will be giving a "Turducken" cooking class at 10 am in Stockton that Saturday. Shortly after the class consumes the sample "Turducken" for lunch, Henry and I are planning to take a run through the foothills in the Mother Lode Country.
Even with such short notice, Lilcat has confirmed that he will be joining us. So, anyone in the area is welcome to meet with us after lunch.
If you are interested in taking the class, or testing the "Turducken," and/or going for the foothill run, let us know.
Cheers,
-macbuddy-

For those interested, we are meeting at 1:00pm:
Calvary Presbyterian Church
2343 Country Club Blvd
Stockton, CA
At 2:00 pm, we will go east on Hwy 4 up to the foothills. Here is the proposed route. We can stop in Murphys to take a break for food, and/or shopping:

The roads get interesting after Copperopolis. Murphys will be an interesting stop for those that have not been there before. Lots of small shops and places to eat. The museum there is worth going through for History buffs. BTW, if anyone knows a more interesting route up to Copperopolis, let me know.

When you carve into it, you will see the layers of boneless turkey, duck, and chicken, with stuffing between each layer.

Claymore, the sample bird will be composed of 16 lbs of Turkey, 6 lbs of Duck, and 5 lbs of Chicken, plus stuffing. If 20 students eat 1/2 lb each, we should still have plenty of leftovers for you to try. Swing by on your way back from work. I'll even throw in some freshly made pancakes! :)

I wish I had some free time to meet up and check out the turducken and a drive. I will be in San Bruno in the AM, a friend's daughter's first birthday at noon, my sister arrives in town afternnon/evening and my fiance's family arrives on monday and still trying to get our respective houses ready for that.

Geez Jeff, you are always so busy! Next time, we will be sure to arrange the meet around your schedule instead. :)

Speaking of pancakes, you gotta try the Macadamia Nut Pancakes, covered with pineapple and bananas, topped with whipped cream at the "Gazebo Restaurant at Napali Shores the next time you stop in Lahaina. As my Sister-in-Law stated this morning, "These are the best pancakes ever, and I don't even like pancakes!"

Be prepared to wait an hour before you get seated though.

It has been non stop lately. I think on Sunday, I don't have any plans apart from getting ready for Rhonda's parents and niece. (not that getting ready won't take lots of time) last weekend was just as busy or even more so.

Looks good but where are the pineapple and bananas, in the batter or under the whipped cream?

Sorry, our dish got devoured before I could take a picture of it. I found the attached picture online. Ours had the Pineapple and Banana sprinkled on top of the pancake, with whip cream over that. The Macadamia Nuts were actually mixed into the pancake batter. Here's a better picture of that dish:

Oh, I forgot to mention the yummy "Coconut Syrup."

Hey guys, I got a PM asking about registration fees to take the "Turducken" class. FYI, there is no fee to participate and/or watch. If anyone wants to come early, you are welcome to watch, and/or participate, and/or sample the finished product.
BTW, if you want to sample the Turducken, just bring a fork and a plate...or a pancake to wrap it in! :)

As planned, about 15 people showed up for the class at 10 am. Three hours later, we all got to test out the sample Turducken.

When the tasting was done, 3 of us went on the Foothills run. Konig_Feather, Slimjimx701x and I had a great time pacing ourselves through the Motherlode backroads. We never had to go over the speed limit to enjoy this run. The route had plenty of turns and elevation to keep us smiling!
