There are so many more tire choices for the 195/60 R15 size as opposed to the 185/55 R16 size of the Sport. I am thinking ahead to snow tires, and would like to get them mounted on 15" rims. Also if I like the 15" rims and ride, might swap them out for the 16" rims for regular tires as well.

Yes, 15" rims work just fine on GE Fits. Just pay attention to the offset measurements on your new rims (to stay within the limits of what will fit within the fenders), and you get the softer ride of higher side walls. You will lose a little bit of the tight cornering of the smaller and stiffer side wall dimensions of the 16" tires, but your concerns about snow conditions are not worth worrying about. Depending on your tire choice, handling may not suffer at all, and might even improve. There are hundreds of posts on other (unfortunately) Fit sites that cover this question. Check on the www.tirerack.com site for more (and more truthful) information than what you will find on fitfreak and other sites.

I run 15" rims on my GE8 Sport with a +43 offset. I have no rubbing at stock height and when I dropped my Fit.

I plan to use snow tires this winter--14's on GE8 Sport. I was going to use steel rims, but the dealer wants $9.87 per lug nut used with the steel rim. Anyway, it's cheaper to go with aluminum rims from Tire Rack.
Has anyone used snow tires without the tire pressure sending unit in the rim, and did not using the TPS affect the sensor when you put the stock rims back on the the car?
Thanks.
