Just a heads up I am new to this.....

I have a 08 fit and I live in a very dusty city and I was wondering what is the best way to keep your engine clean without damaging any parts or sensors in the process.

Thank you for your help!!

P.S. I was also reading from one of your earlier posts about wipers....
I found a website www.handa-accessories.com and they have the front wipers for about 8 bucks and the rear one for about 4 bucks... I hope that was useful info.

Thanks

Use a car wash with wands and spray off the engine. Just try not to get too close with the spray and you may want to cover the alternator with a plastic bag first (don't forget to take it off before driving).

That used to be fine years ago, claymore, but most U.S. cities now do not allow the use of coin-operated wand type car washes on engines. They are trying to prevent oil and grease from being washed into the water system and into the ocean.

wonderwoman, at home you can use Simple Green as the cleaner in a spray bottle. It won't harm hoses or wiring, but follow claymore's suggestion to protect the alternator. Try not to keep high pressure rinse water spraying on your fuse box for very long.
