The guy that wrote the song was Michael Martin Murphy right before he came back to Texas driving a VW Fastback and coined the term Cosmic Cowboy...

Yep, you're right, but I had to check it out before I could say that. Axton wrote and performed so many famous songs that I would have sworn it was his own. His version of the song is great, and the lyrics sound like classic Hoyt Axton humor and sarcasm.

OH EM GEE! That was freakin awesome, how come we don't have car shows like that here?? Is it because california is down right against cars in general?

Do I have to live in the middle of no where texas to get something close to this? I know in Lincoln IL they have drag racing on the weekends, but I would LOVE to see a car show that shows the ups and downs of all cars and what they can do with tricks.... oh man... that would so be awesome!
